Thanks Trace, I think it's because the record club was on the top floor where the history and geography dept was that makes me believe he was a history teacher - he never actually taught me, just had to put up with my strange musical tastes! He was a good guy, and i've written about him again in my 'Keep on Running' post. I think he still teaches more…

well, thank you... this is the first time i've managed to find any reference to mr volwerk! i was in thurso for a year, aged 12-ish in 1971-1972 and remember some teachers and class mates. Volwerk was one person i def recall, though I think he took me for English, not History... anyhow, i remember him raving about Jethro Tull being on telly, Top more…

Bummer about Bruce and the Walmart thing though...

    It snowed here yesterday...

Quinn played a guitar and a violin yesterday. Thoroughly enjoying both but a bit more transfixed with the violin.

Oh, what a lovely story! As I was scanning the text to see if it's worth reading I thought it would be about animal testing and wrinkle creams! But it isn't and I'm so happy 'cause I'm tired of hearing about so many oppressed animals. Finally, a happy amusing story!

By the way, I realized when I reread my comment that the term "fatheads unite" might easily sound at best odd, and at worst offensive. So my apologies... Neither were intended!! more…

Don't forget to write about the alcohol rehabs from Korea. It should be fun also to hear how they treat their alcoholics if they have any alcohol rehabs in the first place. more…

James, I must know you and yours. I happened upon your blog this evening in PP and had to write... Who knows what you're like as a person - I enjoy reading you! That's rare enough to merit trying to make contact. (Yeah, fatheads unite, whatever. :-)

Very bummed you are signing off. There seems to be something going around. This is the second blogger I follow in the same number of weeks that has officially called it quits. All I can say is that I'm bummed; it was the closest thing I had to sharing a beer and shooting the shit with you. I'm sure your reasons are sound. Keep in touch. more…

James, I'm a crap friend and I know it. I've been off-air for months, wrapped up in the usual day-to-day stuff you describe, and then today I was being interviewed for a book that's being written about 10 years of the ormlie project (yes!) and talked about the effect you had when you came in. So I came on here tonight (October, Thurso, wind, rain) more…
